What I Do

I work with people to help them reach their personal goals. I enjoy working with all kinds of conditions from acute ankle sprains to chronic back pain and also with women’s health concerns. I help women during and after childbirth have the best pregnancy, birth and post natal experience their body can have.

My Philosophy

I believe in listening to you, learning what you want out of your experience and working with you to design a plan to get you there. Far to often in healthcare patients don’t feel heard and often they aren’t. Taking the time to hear your whole story and understand what is bothering you, how its affecting you, and what your beliefs and fears may be will ensure I am able to address your issue with an individualized approach and not a one size fits all plan.

My Methods

You can expect our first interaction to be a lot of me listening and asking questions. Whether it is an in clinic consult or a pre-class screening I want to take the time to know about you. After I understand your goals I will take you though an appropriate assessment to give me the additional information I need to design your treatment plan. I always discuss my findings, educate you on your body and ensure you agree and understand the proposed treatment plan. In clinic we may use manual hands on therapies and exercise while in class settings we will focus on exercise appropriate for your goals.

My Goals

My goals are your goals! I want to understand what you want out of physiotherapy and then I want to help you achieve it. But on top of that I also have a few of my own goals. I want you to have a better understanding of what is happening to your body. I believe that the more you can understand the “why” behind what’s wrong the better you are able to self manage. My ultimate goal is to get you to a point where you no longer need me.

One on One

I love taking the time to sit down one on one with my clients and listen to what they want out of physiotherapy. I want to help you reach your goals.

  • Are struggling with a pelvic/women's health issue?
  • Do you want to resolve a new injury, improve your fitness or change a longstanding condition you just haven't been able to sort out?

With a comprehensive assessment I will work with you to ensure you understand your body, answer your questions and create an individualized treatment plan that works for you to reach your goals.

Prenatal Classes

Congratulations on your pregnancy. This is an exciting and overwhelming time with lots of changes and lots of questions. One thing we know for sure is exercise is extremely valuable for both mom and baby during pregnancy.

  • Do you want to set yourself up for the best pregnancy and labour you can have?
  • Do you want to have the tools and reasources to help recover in those early days post delivery?

In my prenatal exercise classes we will also have educational topics to answer your questions about the changes in your body and how to prepare for birth and beyond.

Postnatal Classes

Baby is here and now what? Far too often once baby arrives, mom is forgotten! Postnatal exercise classes are a great way to connect with other moms and reconnect with your body.

  • Does your body feel different? Do you want to understand and reconnect?
  • Do you wonder what's normal, what isn't and what to do about it?

My classes are individually tailored to meet your needs and goals. I work with moms that have urinary incontinence, diastasis recti, pelvic pain as well as moms who are not experiancing any issues but just want to get or stay fit in a supportive enviroment.
